Why You Should Be a Builder

January 28, 2012 By Victor Pride 32 Comments

You: “Victor, man, I'm not happy.”

Me: “What are you building?”

You: “Nothing.”

Me: “There's your problem. Get to building.”

As Men we build shit. We're builders. We've got to be doing something. If you aren't doing as you were intended what do you think is going to happen to you? What's going to happen to your soul? It's going to blacken and rot as you blacken and rot from the inside out.

You've got to have goals and ambitions that you are actively working towards. If you don't spend your days actively busy, actively building something, then you ain't gonna find happiness.

Idle hands are the devils plaything. It's no wonder so many guys are so depressed and down in the dumps - they aren't building anything.

What do you spend your days doing?

  • Working some job you hate?
  • Chatting on Facebook?
  • Trying to get some little slut to send you pics of her tits?
  • Browsing internet forums for stuff unrelated to your industry?
  • Reading blogs that do you no good?
  • Playing with your dick in the dark in front of the internet?
  • Smoking dope and getting high?

Well if you feel like poo-poo stop doing the things that make you feel like poo-poo. Build something. Building something doesn't just mean building a bookshelf. You can build a business.

You can build your body. But you need something to do and something to work towards and for. Your days need to be spent building something and fulfilling your natural urge as a man to build and create (and get paid for it).

If you're good with your hands then build something with your hands. I couldn't build a fucking wooden box so I build other things. Getting a contract signed is my goal. I build deals. I build to get you to sign your name on the line which is dotted. When you see the fruits of your labor it's impossible to be depressed and sad.

When I get that contract signed I drive home doing 90 mph with Motley Crue blaring “Live Wire”. I can't help it. That adrenaline is just pumping in my veins. It's Cocaine without sniffing. When you are handed money for that which you have built and created is the ultimate.

“Cuz I'm alive! A live wire!”

I'm fucking alive man. What about you?

And man, if you ain't alive then you got to get to building something. That's how you turn from the walking dead into a walking Man.

My personal recommendation for happiness and contentment:

1) Spend your days building.

If you're good with your hands you can build a blue-collar business but I don't necessarily mean building anything physical. I mean building your business. I mean actively working, pursuing, acting and doing.

  • Building your foundation
  • Advertising
  • Phone calls, e-mails, and faxes
  • Paperwork
  • Business lunches
  • Seminars
  • Research and development
  • Meetings and Interviews
  • Execution of ideas
  • Get them to sign the line which is dotted

All that little stuff adds up to a big fat check with your name on it. Sometimes it's as simple as hitting the “enter” key or picking up the phone and making the call. But it always starts with building something.

2) Spend your nights relaxing.

I don't mean going out and chasing pussy every night. That ain't no path to salvation or redemption. That's a lonely life that will turn your red heart black.

I mean have yourself a nice big dinner. Get yourself a good girl for a girlfriend and let her take care of you. Have a nice cleansing shower. Relax and unwind.

Hit the gym if you don't go during the day. Get in bed and check your favorite blog (BOLD & DETERMINED). Fall sound asleep after a day of building. If you ain't tired at night that means you didn't do enough building that day. That can easily be remedied.

“But I have no direction.”

Yes you do my friend. That direction is forward.

Be busy during the day building, and spend your nights doing all the bullshit you want to do.

After you get your building done it doesn't matter how you spend your time.

Get your building done and enjoy your life.

Damn straight. Nothing beats that feeling! I work 6 hours a day on a job then come home and shower. At first I felt great doing this because before I had no job and so was making progress. I was also saving half my income and building up some capital. Fast forward to now and I feel nothing after getting home, it’s just a job.

But after getting home and showering I head over to the Uni library and work for 4-6 hours on my software business. Driving home at 7pm after a long day of building! I still don’t get bored of it because I’m moving FORWARD with my business, doing new things each day.

Many months ago I’d get home and try to relax and enjoy myself. If I tried to play a video game I’d get bored after 5 minutes. Yesterday when I came home I had a shower and kicked back on my sofa and played a few hours of FF7 and ENJOYED it.

I think men need to be building/achieveing to enjoy their lives. I’ve spent months living the relaxed beach life with no work or worries and it was a very unrelaxing/unfulfilling time. I’m not quite sure how to describe the emotion.

Not that there’s anything wrong with enjoying yourself or travelling. In a few months I’m going to spend 3 months travelling around Australia doing WWOOFing to preserve my capital, but also spending all my free/alone time working on my business. Then I will go back home and tour some islands, picking up odd jobs to help pay my way, but all the time I will be working on my business, building something to last. I think if you’re building a long term business during the years you spend travelling you can enjoy it. Plus you won’t have that nagging feeling in the back of your mind that you’re wasting your 20’s and not gaining ‘work experience’ and when you go back home you’ll be a broke bum.

Agree Russ, i am a reinforcer for civils construction building serious structures daily. Every1 complains about the work load though at the end of the day the satisfaction is indescribable. I did enjoy some length of time in paradise islands but like you said about the emotion.
I gotta keep building or doing something other than being sedentary. That makes me feel very uneasy.

Victor, you are damned right. A man by definition is a builder. A man is master of his environment and he shapes the world to his will. A man who whines, who is driven by whims, who lets emotions get in the way of his rightful duty to bend this world into the shape his will commands is a depressed faggot. On your second point, spending your night relaxing, that is what every man who builds the world is morally supposed to do. A man who builds the world during the day, and then builds his lifestyle during the night, is a man who wets all panties that come into proximity. This is the law of man, the law of nature, the proper order of things.

Very true. Building something makes you feel like you are accomplishing stuff. Man, I just stumbled upon this site but it already seems to be fuckin awesome. Keep up the good work man! Thank you for building something that other people can benefit from!

I just stumbled apon website looking through the internet it is in the fucking zone!
I have just started building my own Electrical contracting business after years of taking orders and feeling like crap. It feels great to be building something of my own getting all the profits working hard for my own gains. Not getting shit kicked around to make someone else rich.
I hit the gym 3 nights a week and loving life.
Every thing I read in this site strikes a chord with me. Enough is enough of the feminist demasculating world we need to take back our manhood.
    Keep up the good work.

    Victor-

I have returned to this post many times, for the kick in the ass and reminder that my purpose on this earth is to BUILD & CREATE - That’s where the most fulfillment and good feels come from, in my experience.

I think that’s a reason why so many EMPLOYEES are miserable - They’re basically playing in someone else’s sandbox that has already been built, and their job is to simply “keep it going” through bullshit repetitive tasks. That should make any man miserable.

On that note, I’m off to continue building my coaching and personal breakthrough content.

    Mike

You’re either building or not but life is limited.

To die a person that did not consistently make an effort to add value to someone else’s life is a lost soul.

Building up someone counts, whether it’s articles on the internet or making friends in real-life by inquiring about their needs.

  22. AvatarJossie Calderon says

Building is masculine energy. When our structures aren’t appreciated, or are left incomplete, we do not feel whole as a masculine male. That’s why we must always give to people: giving value is building a relationship with someone, people appreciate value, and we don’t want to leave the person hanging. It all works out!
